{"id":226016,"date":"2025-06-30T07:09:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-30T07:09:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/226016\/"},"modified":"2025-06-30T07:09:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-30T07:09:10","slug":"luis-diaz-edges-away-from-barcelona-as-liverpool-consider-fresh-offer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/226016\/","title":{"rendered":"Luis Diaz edges away from Barcelona as Liverpool consider fresh offer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Barcelona are not expected to revive their lingering transfer interest in Liverpool star Luis Diaz next month.<\/p>\n<p>La Blaugrana are working to bring in a new attacker to bolster Hansi Flick\u2019s options for the 2025\/26 season.<\/p>\n<p>However, there is only one objective in the club\u2019s sights right now, and that focuses solely on Athletic Club attacker Nico Williams.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.football-espana.net\/2025\/06\/29\/barcelona-nico-williams-guarantee-athletic-club\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Barcelona have been locked in talks with the Basque winger since the end of the 2024\/25 campaign<\/a> but they are yet to wrap up an agreement with the 22-year-old.<\/p>\n<p>The Catalan giants are prepared to trigger his \u00a351m release clause at the Estadio San Mames, but negotiations have ben hit by delays, due to Barcelona angling for a structured payment plan.<\/p>\n<p>Barcelona end Luis Diaz race<\/p>\n<p>Diaz had previously emerged on Flick\u2019s radar as an option to come into the club with the Colombian indicating he would be open to the move.<\/p>\n<p>However, despite Liverpool\u2019s concern that he will not sign a contract extension, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football-espana.net\/2025\/06\/16\/barcelona-and-liverpool-draw-out-battle-lines-in-luis-diaz-negotiation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Premier League champions set a lofty asking price for the former Porto forward.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Luis-Diaz.jpg\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-290565 has-webp\" alt=\"Luis Diaz has been heavily linked with Barcelona\"  data- style=\"aspect-ratio:1280\/720;max-width:1280px\"\/>Image via Camera Sport \/ Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool were reportedly open to accepting a deal for around \u20ac80-85m on Diaz but that was well above Barcelona\u2019s \u20ac60m ceiling.<\/p>\n<p>With Liverpool unmoved, Barcelona moved on to Williams, and Arne Slot could now consider a fresh option for Diaz.<\/p>\n<p>Saudi Pro League chase Luis Diaz<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool are yet to see sufficient progress from Diaz\u2019s camp over his renewal plans and they could still sanction a summer sale.<\/p>\n<p>The club hierarchy are determined to avoid a repeat of their \u2018contract chaos\u2019 earlier this year as Mohamed Salah and Vigil van Dijk finally signed extensions to their expiring deals.<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool will not permit that situation to happen again, and as per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sport.es\/es\/noticias\/barca\/nassr-lanza-luis-diaz-119185185\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Diario Sport<\/a>, Al Nassr are readying a mammoth offer to try and lure him away from Merseyside in July.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Barcelona are not expected to revive their lingering transfer interest in Liverpool star Luis Diaz next month.
