Ronnie Wood, 78, has taken to social media to share his first post since he took to the stage with Sir Rod Stewart, 80, for a show-stopping reunion with his Faces bandmate.<\/p>\n

Stewart delivered a star-studded performance in Glastonbury’s coveted legends slot on Sunday afternoon, bringing together some of British music’s most celebrated names on the Pyramid Stage.<\/p>\n

The 80-year-old rocker reunited with his former Faces bandmate for the first time in public since the 2020 BRIT Awards, performing their 1971 classic Stay With Me. “C’mon Ronnie let’s remember the old days my son,” Stewart said before Wood launched into the opening bars.<\/p>\n

Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall also joined Stewart for a duet of If You Don’t Know Me by Now, whilst Scottish singer Lulu performed Hot Legs with the veteran entertainer.<\/p>\n

The sun-drenched set saw Stewart power through hits including Maggie May, I Don’t Want to Talk About It and Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?, shouting “next” between songs to maximise his 90-minute slot.<\/p>\n

Wood, Stewart and Lulu’s performance was undoubtedly a stand-out from the chart-topper’s set, and was one Wood clearly enjoyed just as much as the thousands in attendance.<\/p>\n

Taking to Instagram, Wood shared a series of clips and snaps from behind the scenes and on stage during his performance with Stewart.<\/p>\n

“Thank you @sirrodstewart and @glastofest!” Wood penned in the accompanying caption. “It was wonderful to be back on the Pyramid Stage with my good mates Rod, @lulukc and Mick Hucknall! Had me a real good time,” he added followed by a wink emoji.<\/p>\n

Before long, Wood’s followers flocked to the comments section of the post to praise the Legend’s Slot set and his involvement in the performance.<\/p>\n

“You were & are so bl**dy cool. What a performance,” one fan penned before a second echoed: “Showing them all at Glastonbury how good music is done!”<\/p>\n

“It was emotional loved it Ronnie xx,” a third concurred while a fourth also heaped on the praise: “THIS is what Glastonbury is about.” (sic)<\/p>\n

Elsewhere during the performance and in a particularly touching moment, Stewart welcomed Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis onto the stage.<\/p>\n

The 89-year-old, who will turn 90 in October, was pushed onto the stage in a wheelchair accompanied by his daughter Emily, the festival’s organiser.<\/p>\n

Stewart greeted Eavis with an embrace and kiss on the cheek before dedicating I Don’t Want to Talk About It to him. The crowd erupted in cheers as Eavis waved to the massive audience.<\/p>\n

The rock legend had spent over \u00a3100,000 of his own money to ensure the performance was perfect, bringing a 12-piece band and multiple backing singers to Somerset’s Worthy Farm.<\/p>\n

Stewart’s performance featured a medley of his greatest hits, with the enormous crowd singing along to every word.<\/p>\n

The set included Love Train, which Stewart dedicated to Ukraine, telling the audience: “There’s been a lot about the Middle East recently and quite rightly so, but I want to draw your attention to the Ukraine with the next song.”<\/p>\n

The 80-year-old entertainer made multiple costume changes throughout the show, switching from a black and gold suit to a hot pink ensemble. His 12-piece band provided backing whilst he changed outfits.<\/p>\n

The performance concluded with the entire band joining Stewart for an emotional rendition of his 1975 hit Sailing, with Stewart donning a sailor’s hat as the whole crowd swayed along.<\/p>\n

Despite the triumphant performance, Stewart experienced some awkward moments with his guest introductions.<\/p>\n

The rocker accidentally announced Lulu too early, introducing her alongside Wood before realising his mistake.<\/p>\n

“Oh yeah, Lulu’s coming on after this!” Stewart told the audience after an awkward pause. When she eventually appeared in a bright white outfit with tasselled trousers, she wrapped one of her legs around him before telling him: “You’re killing it!”<\/p>\n

She later joked: “We make a good couple… Sorry, Penny!” referring to Stewart’s wife of 18 years, Loose Women star Penny Lancaster, who was in attendance.<\/p>\n

The performance ran slightly over time, with Stewart acknowledging “We have got to get off the stage soon, we are done” before launching into his finale. He thanked all his celebrity guests for their contributions to the show.<\/p>\n
