Talented students from\u00a0Liverpool\u00a0Theatre\u00a0School\u00a0are set to take over the\u00a0Floral Pavilion\u00a0Theatre\u00a0for their\u00a0end\u00a0of year showcase,\u00a0The Performance, this July.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The\u00a0show\u00a0promises\u00a0an uplifting evening of musical\u00a0theatre\u00a0and dance, featuring high energy entertainment that will whisk the audience off to the magical world of the Emerald City, then on to the heart of Africa before heading straight into the legendary rock anthems of Queen. <\/p>\n
There will also be a\u00a0show-stopping performance of the disco classic\u00a0It\u2019s Raining Men, guaranteed to bring the house down on Wednesday, July 2.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Carefully choreographed to showcase the talent, skills and versatility of performers, the production brings together the whole of Liverpool\u00a0Theatre\u00a0School from final year students, who have already completed three years of rigorous professional training, to the rising stars of the junior academy.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Maxine Ellis,\u00a0principal of Liverpool\u00a0Theatre\u00a0School, said: \u201cOur students have worked incredibly hard all year, and this is a wonderful opportunity to see their talent and dedication come to life on\u00a0stage\u00a0at the\u00a0Floral Pavilion.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
She added: \u201cIt\u2019s set\u00a0to be a fantastic evening of musical\u00a0theatre\u00a0and dance as our graduating students star in their last Liverpool\u00a0Theatre\u00a0School showcase before stepping into the world of professional performing. <\/p>\n
“We\u2019re looking forward to bringing the audience to their feet as graduates share the\u00a0stage\u00a0with our brilliant first and second year students, with a special appearance from the young performers in our junior academy who are coming up through the ranks. Liverpool\u00a0Theatre\u00a0School,\u00a0whose patrons include dance legend Wayne Sleep OBE and musical\u00a0theatre\u00a0star Anita Dobson,\u00a0provides talented young performers with the skills they need to perform at a professional level. <\/p>\n
The centre of excellence has shaped the careers of many of the region\u2019s professional dancers, performers and musical theatre stars, with former students going on to appear in shows such as Mamma Mia!, SIX, Frozen, Starlight Express, Blood Brothers and Wicked. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Only the most talented performers are accepted on the elite training programmes at Liverpool\u00a0Theatre\u00a0School, which has a strict audition process in place. <\/p>\n
As part of a commitment to making high level musical\u00a0theatre\u00a0and dance training more accessible to gifted performers from working class backgrounds, there are a number of fully funded places and bursaries available every year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
In addition to full-time professional training, Liverpool\u00a0Theatre\u00a0School also provides coaching for younger performers at its junior academy, which is open to anyone from the age of four to 16.\u00a0Established in 1939, Liverpool\u00a0Theatre\u00a0School is the city\u2019s longest running performing arts school. <\/p>\n
