The London HIV Prevention Programme (LHPP) \u2013\u00a0 a unique collaboration between all 33 London local authorities and hosted by Lambeth Council \u2013 has relaunched the Do It London campaign with a new message for Londoners: \u201clet\u2019s prevent HIV together\u201d.<\/p>\n
Do It London promotes four proven ways to prevent HIV:<\/p>\n
while the \u2018prevent HIV together\u2019 message encourages all Londoners to end the stigma of HIV and take ownership for the health of this city.<\/p>\n
Word from the Cabinet<\/strong><\/p>\n Councillor David Bridson, Lambeth Council\u2019s joint Cabinet Member for Healthier Communities, said: \u201cAs the proud host of the London HIV Prevention Programme, Lambeth Council is committed to ensuring that every Londoner has access to the tools and knowledge they need to prevent HIV. We\u2019re especially proud to relaunch this campaign during Pride Month \u2013 a time to celebrate progress, visibility and community.\u201d<\/p>\n Updating online information<\/strong><\/p>\n The update is based on data from UKHSA showing that In 2023:<\/p>\n But stigma, misinformation and unequal access still hold people back. Do It London is here to change that.<\/p>\n Word from Do It London <\/strong><\/p>\n Marc Thompson, the Lambeth Council based Lead Commissioner of the London HIV Prevention Programme and long-time HIV activist, said: \u201cDo It London continues to serve all Londoners \u2013 loudly, proudly and with purpose. This campaign is about more than awareness. It\u2019s about action. It\u2019s about making sure every person in every borough knows how to protect themselves and others. And it\u2019s about ending new HIV transmissions in London by 2030. We can do this \u2013 but only if we do it together.\u201d<\/p>\n Londoners for Londoners \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The campaign was shaped by Londoners, for Londoners. The update process included audience surveys, focus groups and feedback sessions with people from across the capital. The result is a campaign that reflects the city it serves \u2013 with real Londoners featured in the photography and messaging across the website.<\/p>\n The LHPP focuses on reaching communities most affected by HIV, including gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men, Londoners of Black African heritage, and other communities with a higher prevalence of HIV.
