Emma Raducanu<\/a>\u2019s stalker was blocked from gaining entry to Wimbledon<\/a> this week.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the tournament, alarm bells were raised by the system that deals with the ticket ballot. A man who had followed Raducanu to events in Asia earlier this year, before handing her a letter and a signed photo, had attempted to purchase tickets through the ballot.<\/p>\n

The name of the man – which has never been revealed to the public after he was given a restraining order by Dubai police – was black-listed by the tournament\u2019s system and he will not be on the grounds over the next fortnight.<\/p>\n

Raducanu told the BBC<\/a> last week: \u201cWhen I heard that, my thoughts were that everyone at Wimbledon<\/a> had done an amazing job. I got a notification and the police contacted me, they assured me everything was okay.<\/p>\n

“I know that I\u2019m not the first athlete to go through this and I probably won\u2019t be the last. Not just athlete, female in general. It\u2019s just something that maybe we all have to deal with at some point. I feel okay, I feel comfortable, I feel safe. I\u2019ve had great protection whenever I\u2019ve been at these events.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the tournaments, I have a lot more protection around me, especially the ones here in the UK, where there are most spectators around. I feel a difference and that reassures me, it makes me feel more comfortable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Raducanu faces British rising star Mimi Xu, 17, in the first round today.<\/p>\n
