Keir Starmer<\/a> was taken down in a brutal TalkTV<\/a> moment after being accused of \u201cnot reading his speeches\u201d before making them. The prime minister admitted he did not know his immigration speech made in May echoed Enoch Powell\u2019s 1968 \u201crivers of blood\u201d tirade, admitting at the time: \u201cI wouldn\u2019t have used those words if I had known they were, or even would be, interpreted as an echo of Powell. I had no idea \u2013 and my speechwriters didn\u2019t know either. But that particular phrase \u2013 no, it wasn\u2019t right. I\u2019ll give you the honest truth: I deeply regret using it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now TalkTV caller James has shared his opinions with host Mike Graham, comparing the PM to Anchorman Ron Burgundy from the 2004 film of the same name. He said: \u201cMy head was spinning, I couldn\u2019t keep up with him because of all the U-turns. By the time I\u2019d made it to work, he\u2019d done another one!<\/p>\n

\u201cJesus Christ! Let\u2019s be honest. He\u2019s not reading his speeches before he goes on. What is he thinking? Is he Ron Burgundy? He\u2019ll read anything on the teleprompter. You can put anything in a speech, then, and what \u2013 he\u2019ll just read it? He thinks that sounds good? It makes you sound like a bloody idiot, Keir, which you are, mate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Starmer was appearing at the British Chamber of Commerce, where he watered down planned cuts to welfare after a revolt from Labour rebels.<\/p>\n

James then switched to a tirade against Glastonbury and controversial rap act Bob Vylan, who chanted \u201cdeath to the IDF\u201d during their set.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I\u2019m not giving any mention to Bob Vylan apart from he\u2019s a moron and we\u2019ll move on from that, because we know what the BBC<\/a>\u2019s game is and Glastonbury<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou couldn\u2019t pay me to go there. I couldn\u2019t think of anything or anywhere I\u2019d rather be less than Glastonbury. No thanks!\u201d<\/p>\n

Mike agreed: \u201cJames, very sensible as ever! It\u2019s head spinning, isn\u2019t it?
