COPS are probing a sinister firebomb attack on a beauty salon – the latest in a spate of blaze attacks in Scotland’s biggest city.<\/p>\n

Beauty by Nirvana was targeted on Monday morning when petrol was poured over the front of the premises<\/a> before it was set alight.<\/p>\n

Fire crews raced to the scene in Netherlee, Glasgow<\/a> and extinguished the fire before police<\/a> took over the investigation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Detectives are treating the attack<\/a> as deliberate but it’s understood there is nothing at this stage to suggest a link to the gangland war currently raging elsewhere in Glasgow<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The shop was closed for repairs to the frontage and roof but is expected to reopen this week.<\/p>\n

In a statement posted on their Facebook<\/a> page, the salon – that offers hair<\/a>, make-up<\/a> and nail treatments – said they were shattered by the incident.<\/p>\n

It read: “We are all shocked and frankly quite devastated, however, we have been very lucky that a passer by phoned 999 and the Castlemilk Fire Station reacted quickly and we are very grateful to them for this.<\/p>\n

“Due to this there has been minimal damage and you know us, we will work<\/a> round the clock to be open again in time for another busy week.<\/p>\n

“All appointments are able to go ahead and we will keep everyone up to date on any changes to this.<\/p>\n

“We are blessed to have the best team around us and the best clients.<\/p>\n

“We appreciate every single one of you and the support you give us to live out our little dream. The comeback is always bigger than the setback. Lots love, Victoria & Holly xx.”<\/p>\n

A Police Scotland<\/a> spokesperson said: \u201cAround 6.50am on Monday, 14 April, officers received a report of a fire at a premises on Clarkston Road, Netherlee.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service<\/a> and is being treated as wilful.<\/p>\n
