{"id":227307,"date":"2025-06-30T18:52:14","date_gmt":"2025-06-30T18:52:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/227307\/"},"modified":"2025-06-30T18:52:14","modified_gmt":"2025-06-30T18:52:14","slug":"brexit-fallout-continues-to-hit-profit-at-hellmann-worldwide-logistics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/227307\/","title":{"rendered":"Brexit fallout continues to hit profit at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, which is part of the German logistics giant\u00a0Hellmann Worldwide Logistics SE &amp; Co, has its headquarters in Lichfield and depots in Daventry and Burton-upon-Trent.<\/p>\n<p>The company, which employs around 270 staff &#8211; down from 290 staff in 2023 &#8211; provides\u00a0freight forwarding and logistics services, including \u00a0European road freight, contract logistics, warehousing, supply chain management services, and air freight and sea freight services.<\/p>\n<p>Reporting its results for the year to 31 December 2024, the company revealed that overall turnover fell to \u00a3110.2m (2023: \u00a3110.5m), whilst gross margin dropped from 25.6% in 2023 to 24.1%.<\/p>\n<p>Within this, road freight turnover fell to \u00a317.6m, down from \u00a320m in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Dividends from Rudolph &amp; Hellmann Automotive, in which the company has a 50% joint venture share, also fell in 2024 to\u00a0\u00a3550,000 (2023: \u00a32.3m).<\/p>\n<p>On a brighter note, the company reported turnover from the contract logistics division rising to \u00a325.7m (\u00a32023: \u00a325.4m) in the period.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, the company\u2019s profit before tax dropped to \u00a34.7m during the year, down from \u00a35.9m in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>However the strategic report noted that the profit fall this year was in part driven by last year\u2019s taxation\u00a0credit of \u00a34.7m, which boosted the company\u2019s profit in 2023, and to the fall in dividends from its joint venture with Rudolph &amp; Hellmann Automotive.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the company\u2019s performance, the strategic report to the results said: \u201c2024 was yet another challenging year for both the UK and global economies, however, the company was well placed\u00a0to deal with those challenges and was positioned well so as to take advantage of opportunities that arose.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRoad freight\u00a0volumes continued to decline post-Brexit.
