A music producer who accused singer Chris Brown of a violent nightclub attack in London is now asking a judge to dismiss the case. The move follows Brown\u2019s high-profile arrest overseas just weeks ago.<\/p>\n

Lawsuit asked to be dropped<\/p>\n

According to TMZ<\/a>, producer Abe Diaw filed court documents on Friday, June 27, requesting a Los Angeles County judge dismiss his lawsuit against Brown with prejudice, meaning the lawsuit cannot be refiled.<\/p>\n

Authorities arrested Brown in London on May 15 in connection with a 2023 nightclub incident. He was accused of hitting Diaw with a bottle and faced a charge of grievous bodily harm.<\/p>\n

Diaw previously told The Sun<\/a> that after the attack, his knee collapsed and he needed crutches to walk. He also said he suffered head injuries from being kicked and hit with the bottle.<\/p>\n

Released on bail<\/p>\n

Less than a week after his arrest, Brown was released on $6.7 million bail<\/a>. A judge permitted him to leave the U.K. only for his scheduled tour performances, which began June 8.<\/p>\n

Shortly after his release, Brown posted to his Instagram Story, writing, \u201cFrom the cage to the stage!\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Brown returned to London to plead not guilty to the charge<\/a>. Fellow musician Omololu \u201cHoody Baby\u201d Akinlolu also pleaded not guilty to the same charge.<\/p>\n

Brown has not publicly commented on the lawsuit\u2019s dismissal. However, his Breezy Bowl tour is continuing as planned.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A history of legal issues<\/p>\n

Brown has had multiple previous legal run-ins, both in the U.S. and abroad.<\/p>\n

In 2009, he was charged with felony assault after a domestic violence incident involving then-girlfriend Rihanna. The case garnered international attention after she was hospitalized with visible facial injuries.<\/p>\n

In 2012, Brown was involved in a nightclub brawl, reportedly between him and rapper Drake. Several people, including NBA player Tony Parker, were injured.<\/p>\n

Later that year, he violated a restraining order by attending a Halloween party where Rihanna was present.<\/p>\n

In October 2013, Brown was arrested in Washington, D.C., and charged with felony assault after an altercation with two men. He eventually pleaded guilty in 2014, following rehab treatment, during which he was diagnosed with PTSD and bipolar disorder.<\/p>\n

Ongoing allegations<\/p>\n

Over the years, additional allegations have emerged. Brown was ordered to stay away from ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran, and in 2018, he was sued for alleged sexual assault.<\/p>\n

More recently, in 2024, a woman accused Brown of rape on Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs\u2019 yacht \u2014 a claim that surfaced in the documentary \u201cChris Brown: A History of Violence.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response, Brown filed a defamation lawsuit in January against Warner Bros. Discovery, calling the film \u201cfull of lies and deception,\u201d according to Variety<\/a>. He is seeking $500 million in damages, citing libel and intentional infliction of emotional distress. As of now, there are no major updates in that suit.<\/p>\n
