Dave said, “The telco industry has delivered confusion disguised as control.”

“Way too many plans and too much jargon. And not fast or simple enough. Exetel is changing that today.”

Dave stated that Exetel is aiming to eliminate the complexity of promotions, tiers, and package differences commonly seen across the sector, in order to offer a “fast, reliable” alternative.

“If you see through all the plans and promo periods and that whole game of intentional confusion and you just want fast, reliable internet – this is for you. It’s 80 bucks. 500 Mbps. No gimmicks,” said Dave.

According to Exetel, ‘One Plan’ is immediately available for all eligible Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) or Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC) customers. The company confirmed it is removing all previous plans, creating a single pathway for residential users seeking high-speed connectivity.

No hidden changes

Dave emphasised that the flat rate comes with no “promo periods”, and that customers would not experience automatic price increases after the first few months – a practice that has attracted criticism across the industry.

“One Plan is everything you’ll ever need and nothing you don’t. Of course, if you like that kind of thing, you can game some extra perks – Refer a Friend, where you and your friend both get $1 off your monthly bill for as long as you both stick with us, ‘Warp Speed’ upgrades to 1GB speed, TES 811/42 Mbps for a day for an extra $1, or the ability to Hibernate your internet while you travel. But all you really need to know is that it’s fast, reliable, good value internet,” said Dave.

Add-ons and flexibility

Under the ‘One Plan’, customers are offered additional features such as a Refer a Friend programme, which provides each participant with a AUD $1 monthly discount while both users remain active. Another option allows users to pay AUD $1 for a one-day upgrade to 1 Gbps download speeds. Additionally, customers can temporarily suspend, or “hibernate”, their service while travelling, providing flexibility for those who travel frequently or for extended periods.

Exetel said that these options are designed as supplementary offers, but the core promise of the plan is to deliver straightforward, good value high-speed internet access.

Industry position

Superloop has positioned itself as a challenger in the Australian telecommunications sector, seeking to disrupt existing norms in plan structure and service delivery.

Ben Colman, Chief Marketing Officer at Superloop, described the approach as part of the group’s ethos: “At Superloop, we pride ourselves on being actual disrupters and genuine innovators. Our people are motivated by a common ethos: we work harder for our customers than anyone else. And that’s not a slogan in an ad – that’s our internal core belief.”

Colman added, “We don’t just copy what everyone else is doing. We lead. And that’s what a super internet provider does – matches the energy and the ‘anything is possible’ attitude of the internet and goes and invents better ways of delivering what our customers want – fast, high-speed, reliable internet full stop.”

According to Exetel, the new plan is available immediately for new and existing eligible customers, marking a shift away from multiple plan options and promotional discounting within the Australian internet market.

Exetel, owned by Superloop, has replaced its range of broadband plans with a single product offering for FTTP…

[3161
3454,643,89669,89666,3082,89668,28803,89667,53,16,15
0":"post-227722","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-internet","8":"tag-australia-australian","9":"tag-broadband","10":"tag-fibre-to-the-premises-fttp","11":"tag-hybrid-fibre-coaxial-hfc","12":"tag-internet","13":"tag-internet-service-provider-isp","14":"tag-service-provider","15":"tag-superloop","16":"tag-technology","17":"tag-uk","18":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
