{"id":228022,"date":"2025-07-01T01:20:15","date_gmt":"2025-07-01T01:20:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/228022\/"},"modified":"2025-07-01T01:20:15","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T01:20:15","slug":"wakefield-trinity-confirm-capacity-increase-in-major-stadium-boost","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/228022\/","title":{"rendered":"Wakefield Trinity confirm capacity increase in major stadium boost"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img width=\"2400\" height=\"1600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/AW7_5823.jpg\" class=\"attachment- size- wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wakefield Trinity are doing things right on and off the field and they\u2019ve received another major stadium boost.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since their relegation in 2023, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seriousaboutrl.com\/rugby-league\/wakefield-trinity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trinity<\/a> have turned the corner massively and are now on the edge of the play-offs back in Super League.<\/p>\n<p>On-field performances have been great, especially in 2024 when they lost just once in the league as they won the Championship treble.<\/p>\n<p>Even since their Super League return, they\u2019ve punched far above their weight with some savvy signings from Down Under adding to a very strong squad.<\/p>\n<p>As such, Daryl Powell\u2019s side sit in seventh and are drawing in large crowds given their success but it\u2019s now been confirmed that they can have more fans attend games after an increase in capacity was approved.<\/p>\n<p>Wakefield Trinity have confirmed that the capacity has jumped from 8,027 to 9,252, an increase of 1,225 with 438 more allowed in the New South Terrace, and a further 737 in the North Stand.<\/p>\n<p>Wakefield Trinity confirm key stadium boosts<\/p>\n<p>The increased capacity was just part of the positive news update that Wakefield shared with Trinity also confirming that their average attendance has jumped by almost 2,000, sitting at 7,409 in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Trinity\u2019s statement also pointed to the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.seriousaboutrl.com\/rugby-league-news-wakefield-trinity-handed-major-boost-as-council-approve-further-stadium-development-105702\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> recent planning permission granted<\/a> to further develop their West Stand, before highlighting all the major work undertaken since their relegation at the end of the 2023 season.<\/p>\n<p>CEO Craig Barrass said: \u201cI would just like to close by saying, this really is fantastic news for the club, the city and our fans.
