Blind Date<\/a>, the iconic dating show, is getting a reboot which promises “head-turning format twists”. <\/p>\n

The reality series originally aired on ITV<\/a> between 1985 and 2003, with the format seeing individuals blindly choose a match before heading off on a date in a random location hidden in a secret envelope. <\/p>\n

After a short-lived reboot<\/a> by Channel 5 in 2017 which lasted for two years, Blind Date is officially being brought back again by Disney+<\/a>, with the “much-loved” series being “reimagined” for a “contemporary audience”. <\/p>\n

“The ultimate dating series Blind Date is back \u2013 bigger, better, and bolder than ever,” reads the logline. “The new series will begin in a secret location, where contestants must choose between three potential suitors, hidden from view behind the legendary Blind Date wall, <\/p>\n

“With a host of unique, innovative and head-turning format twists, our daters will see if forever love can truly grow as they spend the summer living together but potential new partners are always lurking behind the wall\u2026”<\/p>\n

Blind Date isn’t the only commission from Disney+, with the streamer also announcing a new show focusing on Coleen and Wayne Rooney<\/a>. Under the working title of The Rooneys, the 10-part series will follow the pair as they navigate a “new chapter” in their lives. <\/p>\n

Furthermore, a reality series about Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo<\/a> has also been greenlit, with the show \u2013 under the working title of Jamie and Sophie: Raising Chelsea \u2013 depicting the duo’s early stages of parenthood. <\/p>\n

“For nearly a decade, we\u2019ve brought audiences along the highs and lows of our personal and professional lives,” said the pair. “Navigating our lives with a baby on the way has opened up a whole new stage of our relationship \u2013 we can\u2019t wait to give you a front row seat!\u201d<\/p>\n

Sean Doyle, Executive Director of Unscripted at Disney+, said that they were “grateful” to be working with the Rooneys in addition to Jamie and Sophie, adding that Blind Date had the potential to “resonate with a whole new generation”.<\/p>\n

Blind Date<\/strong>, <\/strong>The Rooneys <\/strong>and <\/strong>Jamie and Sophie: Raising Chelsea <\/strong>are all currently without release dates. <\/strong><\/p>\n
