The once-mending but often volatile relationship between boxing superstar Ryan Garcia<\/strong> <\/strong>and promoter Oscar De La Hoya<\/strong>, strained by a 2023 public dispute<\/a>, has reached a new low.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s because De La Hoya leaked a private text from Garcia this past weekend, prompted by Garcia\u2019s scathing Twitter\/X posts targeting him.<\/p>\n

Garcia\u2019s text read: \u201cFirst of all, f\u2014k you, especially you for one disrespectful me with that sh\u2014y contract [because] I lost but I\u2019m your actual only current star fighter. You can suck a d\u2014k and I know you already do. So f\u2014k you. You can kiss my ass. I\u2019ll beat Rolly\u2019s ass and whoever. I can\u2019t wait till I go against you again like I did with [Oscar] Duarte and \u2026 to see your stupid ass face again looking stupid f\u2014k you and that stupid offer b\u2014-h I\u2019ll slap the f\u2014k outta you just like Canelo and Berlanga.\u201d<\/p>\n

De La Hoya shared a screenshot of the text<\/a>, commenting, \u201cUnfortunately, Ryan Garcia is having another episode. Ten days ago, he spoke of God and finding his path, but tonight he sent this rant while watching his fellow Golden Boy fighters win. Bipolar disorder is serious, and I hope he gets help.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before the leak, Garcia unleashed a barrage of attacks on social media following the Jake Paul<\/strong> vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.<\/strong> boxing match<\/a> (results here<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Tensions first flared between Garcia and De La Hoya after Garcia\u2019s knockout loss<\/a> to Gervonta Davis<\/strong> (watch highlights<\/a>), when Garcia accused De La Hoya of abandoning him<\/a>, and De La Hoya questioned Garcia\u2019s professionalism<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Legal battles ensued as Garcia sought to exit his Golden Boy contract. His legal team claimed Golden Boy violated their agreement, citing a clause allowing Garcia to fight on pay-per-view platforms beyond DAZN. De La Hoya responded with a lawsuit to enforce the contract.<\/p>\n

The pair briefly reconciled in early 2024 before Garcia\u2019s bout with Devin Haney<\/strong>, but tensions resurfaced after Garcia failed a drug test<\/a> and posted racist and homophobic rants<\/a> online. De La Hoya further strained ties by blocking Garcia\u2019s RIZIN fight in Dec. 2024.<\/a><\/p>\n

Though they appeared cordial at a major Times Square boxing event earlier this year<\/a>, even posing for photos, De La Hoya\u2019s recent block of a Haney rematch has clearly shattered their relationship once more.<\/p>\n
