Ward also gained valuable experience with loan spells at Morecambe and Aberdeen before being promoted to the Reds’ first team.

He impressed on his Premier League debut for Liverpool in 2016 with a 2-1 victory at Bournemouth, which was followed by another win against Swansea City.

Ward then went on to make the move across to Huddersfield Town on a season-long loan in 2016/17, where he played an integral role in their promotion to the Premier League through the play-offs.

After a six-year spell on Merseyside, he joined Leicester City, as the Foxes won the FA Cup and the Community Shield during his eight-year stint at the club.

In total, he made 52 appearances across all competitions, before leaving the King Power
Stadium following the expiry of his contract this summer.

On the signing of Ward, manager Phil Parkinson said: “We’re delighted to welcome Danny back to Wrexham.
