Marvel\u2019s movies might rule the box office, but the company just paid millions to a different set of royals \u2014 the British royal family.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201c[Marvel is] shelling out millions to shoot scenes for AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY over the summer in Windsor Great Park,\u201d the Irish Sun reported<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The outlet explained that Marvel Studios paid millions in location fees to build its sets next to Windsor Castle in Berkshire. The money is set to go towards the upkeep of the surrounding parks.<\/p>\n

The total amount is unknown but, as the Irish Sun\u2019s source explained, \u201cSeveral million pounds is chicken feed to Marvel when their movies make billions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The source added that King Charles \u201chas a keen interest\u201d in the production because \u201csome of the profits of Crown Estates make their way to the Royal Family so it\u2019s a win-win for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Royal Family may even be persuaded to pop by and have a look at Thor in action,\u201d the source said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY has been filming in London over the past few months, with stars like Chris Hemsworth, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby and many more set to star.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s set to premiere next year, with follow-up AVENGERS: SECRET WARS scheduled for 2027.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s all in London. We\u2019re shooting them fairly back-to-back, it\u2019s a lot of work again, we may or may not survive, we\u2019ll see,\u201d co-director Joe Russo told<\/a> Deadline. \u201cBut we\u2019re very excited about it. We found a way into the story that we think is gonna be challenging for audiences, it\u2019s challenging for us to execute. And it\u2019s really exciting for us, it gets us out of bed to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both movies will be directed by the Russo brothers, Joe and Anthony, who have worked on Marvel movies like CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR and AVENGERS: ENDGAME.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cENDGAME was the end, and it took a little time for us to begin to think about it as something other than an end,\u201d Anthony Russo told<\/a> Empire. \u201cWe\u2019re very close with Kevin and Lou [D\u2019Esposito, Marvel Studios\u2019 Co-President] and the entire Marvel team and we\u2019ve had conversations through the years. We\u2019ve talked about a lot of ideas.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cReally what happened was, we ended up stumbling upon an idea that activated all of us. You couldn\u2019t see it coming until it came, and once it came it was like, \u2018Well, that\u2019s a story we need to tell.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll have to wait and see if AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY\u2019s new filming location scores them a cameo from a member of the royal family! <\/p>\n
