Two desirable seaside locations in North Wales<\/a> are attracting house hunters from Greater Manchester and Cheshire, according to a local estate agent. With its stunning coastline, array of properties<\/a> with sea views and some of the UK’s best beaches, people are venturing to North Wales in search of a new home or holiday abode.<\/p>\n

Gascoigne Halman, an estate agents in Alderley Edge, is continuing to see interest from Greater Manchester and Cheshire-based buyers, who are flocking to the area for its calming, coastal lifestyle.<\/p>\n

Families and professionals alike are turning to the region for its blend of natural beauty, characterful villages, rich cultural heritage and well-connected road network.<\/p>\n

Two coastal areas in particular – Abersoch and Anglesey – are proving to be popular with buyers wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of town and city living.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnglesey and Abersoch are not only beautiful, they\u2019re aspirational in their own right,” says Richard Leece, manager of Gascoigne Halman\u2019s Alderley Edge office.<\/p>\n

“There\u2019s a long history of Cheshire residents buying in both areas, drawn to the understated luxury, sweeping views and outdoor lifestyle.<\/p>\n

“Whether it’s paddle boarding before breakfast or watching the sunset with a glass of wine, these aren\u2019t just holiday homes, they’re sanctuaries that restore balance in busy lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

The village of Abersoch, which sits in the south-eastern corner of the Llyn Peninsula overlooking Cardigan Bay, is around two hours and 20 minutes from Greater Manchester and around two hours from Cheshire.<\/p>\n

Boasting several beautiful beaches including Abersoch as the most popular, the village was initially a fishing port but in the 1950s it experienced a huge boom in tourism.<\/a><\/p>\n

The cosmopolitan village is centred around a natural harbour, with rows of boats floating in the marina as sailing is a big part of life in Abersoch.<\/p>\n

It is a popular place for water sports as well as having an array of boutique shops, excellent restaurants and a welcoming atmosphere.<\/p>\n

House prices<\/a> in Abersoch had an overall average of \u00a3585,000 over the last year, according to Rightmove.<\/p>\n

The majority of properties sold during the last year were detached properties, selling for an average price of \u00a3803,750. Terraced houses sold for an average of \u00a3311,667, with semi-detached properties fetching \u00a3732,500.<\/p>\n

Off the mainland’s northwest coast is the island of Anglesey, which was just recently named the UK\u2019s best British island by The Telegraph<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sitting around an hour 50 minutes from Greater Manchester and an hour and a half from Cheshire, the island is known for its attractive 125-mile long shoreline and historic sites including the 13th century masterpiece Beaumaris Castle.<\/p>\n

The area offers a much slower pace of life and has been previously recognised as’ one of the happiest places to live in the UK’.<\/p>\n

Houses in Anglesey sold for an average price of \u00a3257,742 over the last year, Rightmove’s latest data says.<\/p>\n

The majority of properties sold in the last year were detached properties, selling for an average price of \u00a3344,635. Terraced houses sold for an average of \u00a3164,634, whilst semi-detached properties sold for around \u00a3215,545.<\/p>\n

Gascoigne Halman is currently marketing two developments in these areas, and say they\u2019ve had lots of enquiries from a mixed demographic including house hunters from Greater Manchester and Cheshire.<\/p>\n
