A man has died following a house fire in Co Antrim.<\/p>\n

Firefighters were alerted to the fire at Main Street in Ballymoney shortly before 7am on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Three fire appliances, two from Ballymoney and one from Coleraine and the Air Ambulance attended.<\/p>\n

Police have now confirmed that a man in his 50s died.<\/p>\n

The PSNI stated: \u201cPolice received a report of a fire shortly before 7:00am and attended alongside colleagues from Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service who worked to extinguish the blaze. This is not being treated as deliberate.<\/p>\n

\u201cColleagues from Northern Ireland Ambulance Service conveyed one man to hospital where he sadly died.<\/p>\n

\u201cTraffic management for this area is no longer in place.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier today, a spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Fire Service (NIFRS) said that one person was rescued and left in the care of the ambulance service.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirefighters were called to reports of a fire at a mid-terrace flat at Main Street, Ballymoney,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n

“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one jet and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.<\/p>\n

“One casualty was rescued from the property and transferred to the care of NIAS.<\/p>\n
