Meet the residents of Balamory this Autumn on CBeebies, in a new, live action daily programme for pre-school children, set around the adventures of the small island community of Balamory, in Scotland. The cast is a mixture of children and adults - the young children of the local nursey and their teacher, Ms Hoolie. These regular characters will be joined by PC Plum, Archie the inventor, Spencer the Painter, Edie McCready the bus driver, Joise Jump the fitness instructor and Susie Sweet and Penny Pocket who run the local sweet shop. (Picture: BBC\/ Jaap Buitendjyk)<\/p>\n<p>A legend of British children\u2019s TV has confirmed that he\u2019ll be reprising his iconic role from one of the best-loved kids shows of the last 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>Andrew Agnew, who played PC Plum in Balamory between 2002 and 2005, will be stepping back into his old costume for the planned reboot, coming in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Balamory, which ran for four seasons and more than 200 episodes, was the Scottish kids\u2019 <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/12\/10\/00s-tv-star-unrecognisable-stage-transformation-19-years-series-ended-22161300\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/12\/10\/00s-tv-star-unrecognisable-stage-transformation-19-years-series-ended-22161300\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TV show that defined a generation with its memorable \u2018What\u2019s the Story?\u2019 theme tune<\/a> and picturesque setting.<\/p>\n<p>Filmed in the town of Tobermory on the Isle of Mull \u2013 one of the largest of the Inner Hebrides islands in <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/scotland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scotland<\/a> \u2013 Balamory followed the lives of the small fictional island community who lived in the titular village.<\/p>\n<p>In September 2024, it was confirmed that Balamory would be returning with brand new episodes in 2026, with BBC bosses setting the official revival date.<\/p>\n<p>Ever since, speculation has been rife as to whether its lead stars Andrew, Julie Wilson Nimmo, and Miles Jupp, among others, would be coming back for another go.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"691\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/SEI_222023410-aac0.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-23555239\" alt=\"Aspiring detective PC Plum was played by actor Andrew Agnew\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tPC Plum is eager to get back on the streets of Balamory (Picture: BBC)<\/p>\n<p>Now Andrew has confirmed that he\u2019d be well up for producing more stories from Balamory, returning to the role of Balamory\u2019s local police officer PC Plum.<\/p>\n<p>He told BBC Radio Scotland\u2019s Lunchtime Live that he\u2019d be more than eager to get back to Tobermory for more filming when production resumes in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018If they ask me to go back then I\u2019ll absolutely be there with bells on, I\u2019m sure. But at the moment we\u2019re all just getting excited at the fact that it\u2019s happening.
