{"id":23140,"date":"2025-04-15T22:28:08","date_gmt":"2025-04-15T22:28:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/23140\/"},"modified":"2025-04-15T22:28:08","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T22:28:08","slug":"uks-fca-to-establish-regional-offices-in-us-and-asia-pacific","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/23140\/","title":{"rendered":"UK\u2019s FCA to Establish Regional Offices in US and Asia-Pacific"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The United Kingdom\u2019s <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fca.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Financial Conduct Authority<\/a> (FCA) is establishing offices in the United States and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region to offer services like helping firms navigate U.K. regulations to enter the U.K. market or raise capital.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first time the FCA has established regional offices like these, and it is part of the regulator\u2019s efforts to improve exports and inward investment in the U.K., according to a Tuesday (April 15) <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fca.org.uk\/news\/press-releases\/fca-establishes-presence-united-states-and-asia-pacific\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe U.K. is a global hub for financial services,\u201d <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/uk.linkedin.com\/in\/sarah-pritchard-07437672\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sarah Pritchard<\/a>, executive director of supervision, policy, competition and international at the FCA, said in the release. \u201cWe are committed to continuing to build our global network and international reputation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The FCA established its presence in the U.S. this month, with <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/tashmiah\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tash Miah<\/a> working at the British embassy in Washington, D.C., and cooperating with the Department for Business and Trade, according to the release. Miah started her career at <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.morganstanley.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Morgan Stanley<\/a> investment bank in London, a role that included working in Hong Kong from 2018 to 2019, and has been with the FCA\u2019s international division since 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The regulator\u2019s APAC office will be established in July in Australia by <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/camilleblackburn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Camille Blackburn<\/a>, per the release.
