Rightmove\u2019s analysis shows that across the top 50 most expensive seaside areas, average asking prices dipped by 1% year-on-year. However, buyer interest rose by 8% over the same period.<\/p>\n

Other most expensive coastal spots<\/a> include Lymington (\u00a3639,316) in Hampshire;\u00a0Budleigh Salterton (\u00a3535,761), Dartmouth (\u00a3500,006), and Sidmouth in Devon (\u00a3494,811);\u00a0St. Ives (\u00a3507,139) in Cornwall;\u00a0and Whitstable (\u00a3469,586), and Hythe (\u00a3466,898) in Kent. Price changes across these towns ranged from a 9% drop in Canford Cliffs to a 4% rise in Dartmouth.<\/p>\n

In contrast, Saltcoats in Ayrshire, Scotland is the most affordable seaside town, with homes listed at an average of \u00a3122,208. Peterlee in County Durham is close behind at \u00a3122,246, followed by Ashington in Northumberland at \u00a3135,050.<\/p>\n

Saltcoats also recorded the strongest annual price growth, up 13% from last year. Its average asking price is more than \u00a3250,000 below the national average.<\/p>\n

Other affordable coastal areas include Bootle (\u00a3135,208), and Birkenhead (\u00a3149,527) in Merseyside;\u00a0Grimsby (\u00a3142,072) in Lincolnshire, Blackpool (\u00a3142,804), and Fleetwood (\u00a3148,101) in Lancashire;\u00a0Blyth (\u00a3153,487) in Northumberland;\u00a0and Workington (\u00a3158,956) in Cumbria.
