Danske Bank is opening new offices at Ebrington Plaza, Londonderry<\/p>\n
Danske Bank is selling its most historic old premises in the north-west as it announced a move to new offices.<\/p>\n
The bank has said it will open a new north-west office at Ebrington Plaza in Londonderry, with around 40 employees moving from the bank\u2019s listed building home on Shipquay Place.<\/p>\n
And as a result, it has said it will sell its Grade B-listed three-storey building at 6 Shipquay Place, after occupying it since 1867.<\/p>\n
The branch at the building has been closed since June last year, though the bank had continued to use its upper floors.<\/p>\n
Now, the new Ebrington Square offices will be the home of the bank\u2019s regional consumer protection centre team, and will also be used when required by mortgage advisers, small business advisers and agribusiness managers. <\/p>\n
The bank continues to run a branch at Altnagelvin in the city. <\/p>\n
Vicki Hassan, operations director at Danske Bank, said: \u201cThis investment underscores our long-term commitment to the north-west and marks the beginning of a new chapter for us.<\/p>\n
“While we\u2019re saddened to say farewell to Shipquay Place, a significant part of our history, we\u2019re committed to creating a great place to work and our colleagues are excited about the move to a more modern working environment that better suits today\u2019s business needs.\u201d<\/p>\n

The bank said it\u2019s due to take up space at Ebrington Plaza from November, joining professional services firm EY and software firm Alchemy Technology Services at the premises.<\/p>\n
