The Princess of Wales<\/a>\u2019s summer wardrobe typically consists of her Alessandra Rich polka-dot dresses<\/a>, Erdem florals and her go-to Casta\u00f1er espadrilles. For her latest appearance at RHS\u2019s Wellbeing Garden at Colchester Hospital, though, Kate opted for another seasonal classic: a striped shirt.<\/p>\n

Making the case for double stripes, Kate teamed her beige and white shirt with her pinstriped blazer from Blaz\u00e9 Milano, which she has been worn several times in the past, and a pair of brown trousers. In many ways, it\u2019s an archetypal look for the royal, who has been favouring sharp tailoring for official visits in recent years.<\/p>\n

Of course, the striped shirt happens to also be a fashion editor favourite, with a number of Vogue staffers living in the staple in recent months \u2013 usually paired with jeans and ballet flats<\/a>. \u201cIt takes the stress out of having to pick what to wear,\u201d audience growth manager Ellie Davies previously explained<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s the ultimate throw-on-and-go office attire,\u201d commerce producer Mia Portet added.<\/p>\n

Kate was likely thinking the same thing when she got dressed this morning. Royals \u2013 they\u2019re just like us (in some ways, at least).<\/p>\n
