Tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou has revealed that football icon Ronaldo is the best non-professional he has worked with. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Mouratoglou was legend Serena Williams<\/a>‘ coach for a decade and has now coached Naomi Osaka<\/a> for just less than a year.<\/p>\n

He worked with Williams from 2012 until 2022, helping her over the incredible period<\/a> that saw her win 10 Grand Slam titles.<\/p>\n

The Frenchman has also been part of Holger Rune, Simona Halep and Stefanos Tsitsipas’ teams over his career. <\/p>\n

Mouratoglou is currently at Wimbledon<\/a> coaching four-time major winner Osaka<\/a>, as the Japanese star eyes another title.<\/p>\n

He has a remarkable CV of tennis stars that he has worked closely with, but he’s also helped out a handful of celebrities. <\/p>\n

And when speaking to talkSPORT from SW19, Mourtagolou revealed a surprise name that shocked him the most.<\/p>\n

When asked who the best celebrity he has ever coached was, he replied: “I guess…Ronaldo<\/a>, Brazilian Ronaldo.” <\/p>\n

Mouratoglu then continued: “He loves tennis, he really, really loves tennis and he plays a lot.<\/p>\n

“So, I think he swings the ball really good and tennis is so much about movement, so it’s tough, but he plays really good. <\/p>\n

“He has a one-handed backhand, so it’s cool.”<\/p>\n

Ronaldo, who won two Ballons d’Or during his legendary career, seems to have become an avid tennis fan since retirement.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian said in June 2024 that he finds it hard to watch football now, and that he prefers to tune into tennis<\/a>. <\/p>\n

He also mentioned that he played the sport last year, saying: “I think I love tennis more now than football. It’s unbelievable.<\/p>\n

“I cannot watch football matches. I think it’s too boring. <\/p>\n

“But I can stay for five hours watching tennis, it’s crazy. I’m training three times a week.”<\/p>\n

Mourtaglou has clearly been impressed by Ronaldo’s skills on the court, proving his regular training appears to have been working.<\/p>\n

The coach spoke to talkSPORT alongside Nick Kyrgios<\/a>, who was spotted in Osaka’s team box at Wimbledon on Monday.<\/p>\n

Kyrgios also picked out his best non-professional that he’s ever played with, and he dropped two big names.<\/p>\n

“Matthew McConaughey was pretty good, but DJ Mustard loves it…I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who has passion like him.<\/p>\n

“He plays like four hours a day, he was so into it when I spoke to him in LA, he takes it really seriously. “<\/p>\n

Mouratoglou then intervened and said: “I’ve played with him too, he was unbelievable.”<\/p>\n

The French coach also added that he’d played with comedy actor Rainn Wilson, who is said to also ‘love tennis’.<\/p>\n

Mouratoglou will be back supporting Osaka in her team box on Wednesday as she plays in the second round at Wimbledon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She is set to take on Katerina Siniakova on Court 2 at SW19.<\/p>\n
