{"id":232949,"date":"2025-07-02T21:03:14","date_gmt":"2025-07-02T21:03:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/232949\/"},"modified":"2025-07-02T21:03:14","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T21:03:14","slug":"colchester-hospital-boss-speaks-on-princess-of-wales-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/232949\/","title":{"rendered":"Colchester Hospital boss speaks on Princess of Wales visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gazette-news.co.uk\/news\/25284076.princess-kate-praises-colchester-hospitals-wellbeing-centre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Princess Catherine<\/a> joined patients, staff and volunteers in the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Wellbeing Garden at Colchester Hospital on Wednesday July 2.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  She also spoke to members of the Trust\u2019s Cancer Wellbeing Centre team and the patients who use its vital services.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The princess, who is recovering from cancer, heard how gardens in healthcare settings play a crucial role in promoting good health outcomes and preventing poor health.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The princess planted some of the roses in the Wellbeing Garden alongside volunteers from ESNEFT and the RHS.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   alt=\"The Princess of Wales during a visit to the RHS's Wellbeing Garden at Colchester Hospital in Essex\" style=\"width: 100%;\"\/>The Princess of Wales during a visit to the RHS&#8217;s Wellbeing Garden at Colchester Hospital in Essex (Image: Stefan Rousseau)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Nick Hulme, chief executive of East Suffolk and North Essex Trust which runs Colchester Hospital, said: \u201cIt was a privilege and joy to welcome Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales to ESNEFT and Colchester Hospital today.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cThe Wellbeing Garden is so much more than a garden. We know getting into green spaces and away from the hustle and bustle is really important and has a positive impact on people\u2019s health and sense of wellbeing.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cThe project to design, build and plant the Wellbeing Garden had our patients, visitors and staff at its heart.
