Hojlund’s future at Old Trafford is unclear, and Joshua Zirkzee more impressive as a number 10.

Photo by Gabriele Maltinti/Getty ImagesMoise Kean backed for Manchester United transfer

United have been linked with so many strikers, though one rumoured target will divide opinion.

Reports in June suggested that United were interested in Fiorentina’s Moise Kean after a strong season in Serie A.

Kean hit 25 goals in 44 games this past season, seemingly beginning to fulfil the potential he showed early in his career.

Kean previously struggled in the Premier League with Everton, though, and that may leave United fans a little unconvinced.

The Italian may not be fully sold either, with Kean allegedly unsure about joining a club with no European football.

Kean is still a name to watch, and former Fiorentina star Massimo Orlando has offered his verdict on the rumours.

Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Orlando suggested that Kean should not prioritise a move to Saudi Arabia.

Orlando considers a move to Saudi Arabia to be ‘outside of real football’, but believes a switch to United would be ‘understandable’.

Orlando added that United could offer Kean a salary of around €10million-a-year, which works out to £166,000-a-week, and that would be difficult to turn down.

“Certain figures are high, but going there seems to me to be outside of real football,” said Orlando.

“If Manchester United were to arrive instead, who can offer you a 10 million contract, then yes it would be an understandable choice,” he added.

Moise Kean has requested huge wages

£166,000-a-week would be a huge deal anyway, but reports in Italy suggest that Kean asked for even more money from Saudi Arabian side Al-Qadsiah.

Kean was offered €15million-a-year (£250,000-a-week) to join the Saudi outfit, but his representatives came back with even larger demands.

Kean allegedly requested €20million-a-year, which works out to an eye-watering £333,000-a-week.

United will have no plans to pay that kind of money, and many would be unconvinced if United paid Orlando’s suggestion of £166,000-a-week.

Kean has found his goalscoring boots in Italy, but his up-and-down career to date makes him an enormous risk for United – and one Ineos may not be willing to take.

Manchester United are looking to snap up a new striker this summer, and one target
