A man injured following a serious assault at a pub is now in a stable condition. Merseyside Police has confirmed the man in his 30s, who suffered a head injury during the serious assault at the Hare and Hounds pub in Huyton<\/a> and was previously in a critical condition, is now stable.<\/p>\n Merseyside Police<\/a> was called to the pub, on Cronton Road in Huyton<\/a>, to reports of the incident at around 7.45pm on Tuesday, June 3. It came after reports of a fight during a funeral function at the pub, with officers arriving to find a man in his 30s with a serious head injury.<\/p>\n He was taken to hospital for assessment. A 47-year-old man from Whiston and a 47-year-old man from Huyton were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and common assault.<\/p>\n The two men who were arrested were bailed following questioning, with enquiries continuing.<\/p>\n Officers remained at the pub the following day to speak to witnesses and gather evidence.<\/p>\n Detective Inspector Jimmy Rotheram said: “We continue to appeal for any witnesses of the incident as our enquiries are ongoing.<\/p>\n “Your account, images or footage could be vital as we look to establish exactly what happened.
