CAROLINE WOZNIACKI took a dig at ex Rory McIlroy after watching him win the Masters.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Golf star McIlroy ended his Augusta nightmare<\/a> by finally getting his hands on the sport\u2019s top prize last weekend.<\/p>\n

Wozniaki appeared live on coverage of the Masters and couldn’t resist a dig at McIlroyCredit: ESPN<\/p>\n

The Northern Irish ace saw off competition from Justin Rose<\/a> in a dramatic playoff.<\/p>\n

And McIlroy broke down in tears after being awarded with his coveted green jacket – becoming just the sixth golfer ever to earn a career Grand Slam in the process.<\/p>\n

The ace celebrated in style with his wife Erica Stoll – just a year after they filed for divorce<\/a> before a hasty U-turn – and their four-year-old daughter Poppy.<\/p>\n

But one of McIlroy\u2019s exes appeared to take aim at him with a cutting remark.<\/p>\n

Danish tennis star Wozniacki and McIlroy were an item for three years between 2011 and 2014.<\/p>\n

McIlroy and the Australian Open champion got engaged on New Year’s Eve after a whirlwind romance, with Wozniaki posting: “Happy New Year everyone! Rory and I started 2014 with a bang! I said YES!!!!”<\/p>\n

But they ended up abruptly cancelling their wedding plans and splitting just days after sending out invites when McIlroy broke up with Wozniacki in a three-minute phone call.<\/p>\n

McIlroy said at the time that he “wasn’t ready” for marriage.<\/p>\n

He wrote in a statement: “There is no right way to end a relationship that has been so important to two people.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The problem is mine. The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realise that I wasn\u2019t ready for all that marriage entails.<\/p>\n

Wozniaki and McIlroy were engaged on New Year’s Ever 2013 but soon split upCredit: X<\/p>\n

“I wish Caroline all the happiness she deserves and thank her for the great times we\u2019ve had. I will not be saying anything more about our relationship in any setting.”<\/p>\n

McIlroy soon began dating now-wife Erica just months later in 2015, with the pair having first met at the Ryder Cup four years prior.<\/p>\n

And Wozniacki has now revealed she rooted for a different golfer at the Masters, aiming a dig at McIlroy by claiming her choice \u201chad a big chance of winning.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Dane, who is now married to ex-basketballer David Lee, told ESPN: \u201cWe pick one that we think has a big chance of winning, and that was Ludvig Aberg.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swedish star Aberg was in with a chance of joining McIlroy and Rose in Sunday’s dramatic play-off, only to triple bogey the 18th hole.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, McIlroy and wife Erica put on a united front at the Masters.<\/p>\n

The pair have been married for eight years but nearly called things off in 2024.<\/a><\/p>\n

They filed for divorce as rumours swirled of McIlroy\u2019s blossoming romance with CBS Sports presenter Amanda Balionis.<\/p>\n
