However, for Herman Ese’ese and Caius Faatili, the whitewash has been very familiar to them in 2025.

Both players have scored seven tries this season, and are on track to break the record for most tries scored by a prop in a single Super League campaign.

The record is currently 10 tries, set by St Helens pair James Graham and Tony Puletua, who both managed to break into double figures in 2008 and 2009 respectively.

This season, that feat could be broken, with Ese’ese and Faatili both having incredible seasons so far.

Could Hull FC and Wakefield men make Super League history?

The pair are also the first props to score seven or more tries in a season since 2020, when Alex Walmsley crossed the whitewash on nine occasions.

For Ese’ese, it is not just try scoring that has made him a standout for Hull FC this season. His averages are pretty on the eye, with over 105m per game, as well as two offloads, over five tackle busts and 30 tackles. This makes him an all-round threat, with his ability to get over the try line another string in an already very powerful bow.

Faatili only signed for Wakefield in late January, and arrived at the club a week before the Super League season began. However, his impact was felt almost instantly, and that form earned him a new 3-year deal after just 13 games.

He was Super League’s Player of the Month for June, and scored try doubles in wins over Castleford, Warrington and Salford.

With just under half a season remaining, if the duo keep on the same track they are currently on, they will have more than enough time to break the record.

Two current Super League players, from Hull FC and Wakefield Trinity, are bidding to make history and break…

[4102
4151,79,16,15
0":"post-234856","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-rugby","8":"tag-rugby","9":"tag-sports","10":"tag-uk","11":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
