conditions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Canary Islands is set to be facing strong winds and a slight drop in temperatures this week<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/1_JS366644845.jpg\" alt=\"Playa de Papagayo\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>The Canary Islands is set to be facing strong winds and a slight drop in temperatures this week\u00a0(Image: Emanuele Cremaschi\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A weather warning has been issued in the Canary Islands, with intense conditions expected from today (July 3).<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Spain&#8217;s national weather agency, AEMET, alerted tourists and local residents over strong winds and a noticeable decrease in temperatures in the holiday hotspot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The news comes after the popular holiday destination has recently faced a series of scorching temperatures, as well as numerous protests against mass tourism.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">From Thursday, there is set to be sunny skies across the Balearic Islands, but a light calima (haze) could remain over Gran Canaria, which could affect air quality.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A slight dip in temperatures has also been predicted from this day on the island, but highs of 30 to 32C are still expected in some areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">READ MORE:<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/news\/midlands-news\/exact-date-new-33c-heatwave-31980053\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> Exact date new 33C heatwave will hit Birmingham as weather map turns red<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Strong winds are expected to build throughout the day, particularly affecting the southeast and western lowlands.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Winds from the north to the north east are set to intensify as the week continues with the conditions possibly acting as a hazards for outdoor activities, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/weather\/2076429\/urgent-warning-brits-heading-canary#\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">the Express<\/a> said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The strongest gusts are likely to hit low-lying areas on the southeast and northwest slopes of Tenerife, as well as the more mountainous islands.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Winds are also expected to intensify towards the evening each day, bringing potential hazards for beachgoers, hikers and drivers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In Lanzarote, powerful gusts could affect the southeast during early mornings and evenings, while Fuerteventura\u2019s southern Jand\u00eda massif is forecast to see similar conditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Tenerife could see a moderate drop in temperatures, especially at mid-altitudes, with locally very strong gusts around the Anaga massif and far northwest of the island.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Tourists visiting these areas are advised to take extra care, especially around coastal zones and exposed routes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">READ MORE: <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/travel\/uk-tourists-canary-islands-face-31985660\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">UK tourists in Canary Islands face new &#8216;ban&#8217;
