{"id":235021,"date":"2025-07-03T15:18:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-03T15:18:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/235021\/"},"modified":"2025-07-03T15:18:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-03T15:18:10","slug":"bbc-branded-a-shambles-over-wimbledon-coverage-during-novak-djokovic-and-dan-evans-match","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/235021\/","title":{"rendered":"BBC branded &#8216;a shambles&#8217; over Wimbledon coverage during Novak Djokovic and Dan Evans match"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">The BBC was criticised by viewers on social media after their coverage of Novak Djokovic&#8217;s second-round Wimbledon match against Dan Evans went down midway through the match.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Djokovic took the lead against Evans by winning the first set 6-3 in their Wimbledon showdown with the Serbian in incredible form.<\/p>\n<p>However, tennis fans were left shocked after the live broadcast inexplicably cut to a shot of what appeared to a studio with an empty chair and a coffee cup.<\/p>\n<p>Fans could be seen milling about in the background as the live shot continued while the match audio could still be heard.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"b4614\" data-rm-shortcode-id=\"b99f57e2f6d110d84359a54a17cba507\" data-rm-shortcode-name=\"rebelmouse-image\" class=\"rm-shortcode rm-lazyloadable-image \" lazy-loadable=\"true\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%201200%20712'%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" data-runner-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/bbc-djokovic.jpg\" width=\"1200\" height=\"712\" alt=\"BBC Djokovic\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Novak Djokovic&#8217;s Wimbledon match against Dan Evans was interrupted by the BBC&#8217;s coverage<\/p>\n<p>Reuters\/BBC<\/p>\n<p>After a while, another camera shot &#8211; but not a return to the Djokovic and Evans clash going on.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, it showed Henman Hill with fans sat on watching the match on a big screen, but still no available feed of the game.<\/p>\n<p>This continued for some time as Djokovic carried on his fine form against Evans as he took the second set.<\/p>\n<p>But BBC viewers were unable to watch the action for several minutes before finally coverage resumed.<\/p>\n<p>However, watchers were furious with the national broadcaster and let loose on social media.<\/p>\n<p>One tennis fan wrote on X: &#8220;God alive, this years coverage is more of a shambles, let\u2019s watch the crowd &amp; then blue screen instead of Djokovic match.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Another posted: &#8220;BBC don\u2019t show me the cloud and crowds show me the Djokovic match ffs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A third said: &#8220;The coverage has been awful, they put the same match on yesterday on both channels missing 3 games.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While this viewer politely put: &#8220;Can you please put the feed for the Djokovic game back on?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"ee432\" data-rm-shortcode-id=\"6f6355b1bdb179841273eb3f090a2c58\" data-rm-shortcode-name=\"rebelmouse-image\" class=\"rm-shortcode rm-lazyloadable-image \" lazy-loadable=\"true\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%202322%201307'%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" data-runner-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/bbc.jpg\" width=\"2322\" height=\"1307\" alt=\"BBC\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The first interruption saw an empty studio with a cup on the desk with viewers baffled<\/p>\n<p>BBC<\/p>\n<p>And another said: &#8220;Why are we watching crowds instead of Djokovic?
