Though she\u2019s in remission, Kate Middleton\u2019s<\/a> recovery has apparently proven to be a difficult one. <\/p>\n The first hint of this could\u2019ve been her withdrawal from Royal Ascot. <\/p>\n But during a visit to Colchester Hospital on Wednesday, the Princess of Wales opened up about the difficult aftereffects of her cancer treatment, labeling this moment of her life as \u201creally, really difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment,\u201d she explained, per Page Six<\/a>. \u201cTreatment\u2019s done, then it\u2019s like, \u2018I can crack on, get back to normal,\u2019 but actually [that\u2019s not the case].\u201d<\/p>\n Though she\u2019s no longer under active medical supervision, Middleton mentioned that she cannot \u201cfunction normally at home as [she] perhaps once used to.\u201d<\/p>\n Something that helped her see this through was the support she\u2019s received.. <\/p>\n \u201c[Having] someone to help talk you through that, show you and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment \u2026 is really valuable,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n She also noted that finding a \u201cnew normal … takes time.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a roller coaster, it\u2019s not smooth, like you expect it to be. But the reality is, you go through hard times,\u201d the princess added.<\/p>\n The wife of Prince William first announced her cancer diagnosis in March 2024 after a private two-month recovery period after undergoing abdominal surgery.<\/p>\n During that time, she said, \u201cPrince William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.\u201d <\/p>\n Fast forward to September 2024, and her chemotherapy was completed.
