{"id":23546,"date":"2025-04-16T02:02:18","date_gmt":"2025-04-16T02:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/23546\/"},"modified":"2025-04-16T02:02:18","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T02:02:18","slug":"cedar-rapids-man-arrested-for-cutting-fiber-wire-and-disrupting-internet-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/23546\/","title":{"rendered":"Cedar Rapids man arrested for cutting fiber wire and disrupting internet services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa \u2014 A Cedar Rapids man is facing multiple charges after police say he cut and stole fiber wire behind his neighbor\u2019s home, disrupting internet and cable services for two neighborhoods.<\/p>\n<p>78-year-old Steven Herman was arrested Monday and charged with critical infrastructure sabotage, second-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree theft.<\/p>\n<p>According to a criminal complaint, Herman used a ladder and garden shears to cut ImOn fiber wire behind a home in the 2800 block of Evelyn Drive SW around 12:45 p.m. on March 22. Two witnesses reportedly saw him with the stolen wire.<\/p>\n<p>A warrant for his arrest was issued on April 9 with a $15,000 bond.
