{"id":235607,"date":"2025-07-03T20:17:12","date_gmt":"2025-07-03T20:17:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/235607\/"},"modified":"2025-07-03T20:17:12","modified_gmt":"2025-07-03T20:17:12","slug":"i-would-recommend-mercedes-f1-switch-to-verstappen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/235607\/","title":{"rendered":"I would recommend Mercedes F1 switch to Verstappen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/driver\/lewis-hamilton\/829181\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lewis Hamilton<\/a> revealed he would give a glowing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/team\/mercedes\/36495\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mercedes<\/a> reference to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/driver\/max-verstappen\/829269\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Max Verstappen<\/a>, should the Dutchman decide its time to leave Red Bull and join the Silver Arrows in Formula 1.<\/p>\n<p>Rumours persist that Verstappen could be tempted to leave Red Bull at the end of this year, with Mercedes thought to be a strong option as his current car continues to present struggles for the four-time world champion.<\/p>\n<p>Read Also:<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton, Verstappen&#8217;s long-term rival, left Mercedes for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/team\/ferrari\/36466\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ferrari<\/a> ahead of the 2025 campaign having won six of his own seven drivers titles driving for the German manufacturer.<\/p>\n<p>However, asked if he would promote Mercedes to Verstappen, Hamilton was unequivocal, while also admitting guilt to having previously labelled Red Bull as \u201cjust a drinks company\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Asked if he would recommend his former team, Hamilton said: \u201cOf course.\u00a0I mean, he&#8217;s coming from a great team.\u00a0Many, many years ago, I was being asked something about, I can&#8217;t remember.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think I was just so diehard Mercedes at the time, and I remember saying something about Red Bull being only a drinks company.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>   <img decoding=\"async\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/lewis-hamilton-mercedes-amg-f1.jpg\" alt=\"Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes-AMG F1 Team, 1st position, kisses the winners trophy\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" loading=\"lazy\"\/> <\/p>\n<p class=\"title\">Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes-AMG F1 Team, 1st position, kisses the winners trophy<\/p>\n<p class=\"photographer\">Photo by: Andy Hone \/ Motorsport Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I always regretted it, because I was just saying that Mercedes at the time was just great.\u00a0I was really just trying to G up my team, but the truth is, Red Bull have been an incredible team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere&#8217;s so many people there that are exceptional, and they&#8217;ve dominated for years.\u00a0But what I can say, if anyone was going to ask me about Mercedes, it&#8217;s an amazing team also.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith, naturally, the passion, they&#8217;ve got great personnel, it&#8217;s a great factory, great environment to work in.
