John Dever, of Good Shephard Close in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/croxteth\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Croxteth<\/a>, engaged in the &#8220;vile and predatory&#8221; exploitation of the schoolgirl in 2023 at the age of 22.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Police were notified of his behaviour when hotel staff at one venue raised concerns over the girl&#8217;s age and rang police, with Dever booking hotels across Liverpool and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/southport\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Southport<\/a> to carry out his crimes. Appearing at <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/courts\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool Crown Court<\/a>, 25-year-old Dever was sentenced after pleading guilty to a number of child sexual offences, including six counts of sexual activity with a child, arranging or facilitating a child sex offence, and five counts of making indecent images of a child which were category A,B or C videos.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Dever was sentenced to five years and three months in prison, and was also issued with a lifelong restraining order. He is required to sign the Sex Offender Register for life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Detective Constable Soph Lowe from <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/sefton\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Sefton<\/a> Protecting Vulnerable People Unit, said: &#8220;We work closely with hotels and bars to raise awareness of child sexual exploitation. Hotel staff in particular have been trained to identify the signs of when a child is being sexual exploited and how to report issues to police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cIn this instance, Dever\u2019s predatory and vile behaviour was found out when hotel staff at one establishment raised concerns about the girl&#8217;s age and called police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cThe victim and her family have shown immense courage and bravery throughout the investigation to reach this conviction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cToday\u2019s custodial sentence has removed him from the streets to prevent further harm to anyone else. I hope Dever spends his time in prison reflecting on his wholly unacceptable behaviour.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Det Con Lowe added: \u201cI hope his imprisonment encourages other victims to come forward and report sex offences to us, and demonstrates that they can have confidence in us to take reports seriously. We will ensure offenders are put before the courts so that they can pay for their crimes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;\u201cAnyone who has been a victim of a sexual
