Manchester United are looking to raise funds this summer, and all eyes are now on Anthony Elanga\u2019s potential move to Newcastle United.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ineos<\/a> don\u2019t have an unlimited budget this summer, especially after Manchester United<\/a> missed out on Champions League qualification.<\/p>\n

United\u2019s budget is a little tight, meaning deals are being structured to lessen the financial burden right now.<\/p>\n

Matheus Cunha has joined United<\/a>, but his \u00a362.5million release clause will be paid in three instalments.<\/p>\n

United hope to offload some fringe players in order to raise funds, but sell-on clauses could prove absolutely vital.<\/p>\n

Alvaro Fernandez is set to join Real Madrid<\/a> in a deal which will earn United around \u00a37million after selling the defender to Benfica last year.<\/p>\n

Anthony Elanga<\/a> is another player who could bring in some cash for United this summer.<\/p>\n

United sold Elanga to Nottingham Forest<\/a> for just \u00a315million in 2023, allowing the winger to play first-team football away from Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

The Swede has taken his game to another level, turning in brilliant performances in a counter-attacking Nottingham Forest side.<\/p>\n

Newcastle failed with a bid for Elanga<\/a> in June, as the Magpies\u2019 offer of \u00a345million fell \u00a315million short of the \u00a360million asking price.<\/p>\n

The Daily Mail\u2019s Craig Hope<\/a> now reports that Newcastle have returned with an offer of \u00a355million \u2013 and are \u2018on the verge\u2019 of a deal.<\/p>\n

That is backed up by Fabrizio Romano<\/a>, who claims that Newcastle are pushing to finalise the deal.<\/p>\n

United will be very interested, as the Manchester Evening News<\/a> claim that a 20% sell-on clause was included in Elanga\u2019s move to Forest.<\/p>\n

That will be valid for anything over the \u00a315million Forest paid, meaning United now stand to bring in around \u00a38million of the \u00a355million fee.<\/p>\n

That isn\u2019t ground-breaking money, but every little helps for United this summer, and that cash could help structure a deal for Bryan Mbeumo.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

How Anthony Elanga became a star away from Manchester United<\/strong><\/p>\n

Elanga joined United in 2014 and made his competitive debut against Leicester City in 2021.<\/p>\n

The Swede showed bags of potential and famously found the net against Atletico Madrid in February 2022.<\/p>\n

First-team chances were few and far between under Erik ten Hag, though, and he managed just 424 minutes of Premier League action in the 2022-23 season.<\/p>\n

Elanga simply had to leave United, and Forest were happy to take him in, with five goals and nine assists last season offering a taste of what was to come.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old improved those numbers with six goals and 11 assists this past season, thriving down Forest\u2019s right flank.<\/p>\n

Elanga\u2019s Premier League starts have gone from just five in his final United season to 25 in his first Forest campaign and 31 in his second.<\/p>\n

Now fully adjusted to playing week in and week out at the top level, Elanga just continues to improve and make himself even more dangerous.<\/p>\n

United have wasted so much money on wingers such as Antony and Jadon Sancho in recent years, when believing in Elanga was arguably the better choice.<\/p>\n

Perhaps Elanga needed to leave in order to develop his game, but seeing him valued at \u00a355million just two years after a \u00a315million exit from Old Trafford really stings.<\/p>\n
