Manchester City’s Premier League fixture with Aston Villa has been rearranged after they booked their place in the FA Cup<\/a> semi-finals, giving Pep Guardiola<\/a> and supporters a rare boost from the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n City<\/a> were scheduled to host top four rivals Aston Villa at the Etihad on an unusual Monday night clash on April 28, but both teams have progressed to the FA Cup last four on the weekend of April 26. And rather than moving the game to later in the season, a rare act of common sense has prevailed with the game now set for April 22.<\/p>\n With Villa still in the Champions League<\/a>, the next date the game could be played would be mid-May due to European semi-finals, and either side may also have to fit in another rearranged game if they got to the FA Cup final. So while there are two free midweeks left in the season after the cup semi-finals, this solution allows all parties to avoid the uncertainty and get the fixture played in good time.<\/p>\n It also avoids a potentially defining game in the race for a top four spot being played in the final two weeks of the season, which will likely please Guardiola. The Tuesday night kick off also gives enough time between City’s Saturday afternoon trip to Everton and their Wembley semi-final at the weekend which is yet to be scheduled.<\/p>\n In other fixture news, City’s away trip to bottom side Southampton has been confirmed for Saturday May 10 at 3pm after it was not chosen for live broadcast in the UK.<\/p>\n That means City fans can plan their run-in knowing the final day trip to Fulham will take place on Sunday May 25.
