Greater Manchester has seen plenty of dry weather recently – but a change is on the cards for this weekend.<\/p>\n

The Met Office<\/a> is forecasting prolonged spells of rain across the region over the next three days.<\/p>\n

A cloudy afternoon is expected across Greater Manchester today (July 4), before wet weather<\/a> moves in from around 5pm.<\/p>\n

A spell of light rain is forecast to become heavy from 7pm until around 10pm, before light rain continues throughout Saturday morning and early afternoon.<\/p>\n

Forecasters expect dry, cloudy conditions from later on Saturday afternoon, with sunny intervals during the evening.<\/p>\n

But further spells of rain are forecast from the early hours of Sunday morning until lunchtime, before showers are forecast until Monday morning.<\/p>\n

The Met Office expects top temperatures of 20C to 21C across the region today and tomorrow, hitting 22C in some areas on Saturday, including Trafford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A cooler maximum temperature of 18C is forecast for Sunday, while overnight lows will range between 12C and 14C across the weekend.<\/p>\n

Although plenty of rain is forecast for this weekend, Greater Manchester is expected to avoid the worst of the UK’s weather.<\/p>\n

A yellow weather warning for ‘persistent, heavy rain’ has been issued for parts of western Scotland<\/a>, running from 6am today until 3pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n
