Kate Middleton<\/strong> is keeping her heart on her sleeve as she returns to public life, speaking candidly about the struggles with cancer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Princess of Wales<\/strong>, 43, spoke about putting a \u201cbrave face\u201d on for the treatment during a recent hospital visit. She also admitted she is still struggling to \u201cfunction normally\u201d at home.<\/p>\n

Several netizens agreed with her statements, saying, \u201cEven though treatment is over, you will never be the same.\u201d<\/p>\n

The British royal stepped away from the limelight after announcing in March 2024 that she was undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer.<\/p>\n

By September 2024,\u00a0she announced that she had completed chemotherapy<\/a> and said in January that she was in remission.<\/p>\n

This week, she officially returned to public duties with a visit to the Colchester Hospital in Essex on July 2.<\/p>\n

Kate visited the hospital\u2019s newly opened well-being garden for patients and staff.<\/p>\n

She also planted several \u201cCatherine\u2019s Rose\u201d plants\u2014a new rose named after the Princess of Wales by the Royal Horticultural Society.<\/p>\n

The Colchester Hospital received fifty of the roses this week, while 500 other \u201cCatherine\u2019s Rose\u201d plants will be delivered this summer to community and well-being gardens across the U.K.<\/p>\n

While speaking to the Colchester Hospital staff this week, she candidly spoke about her cancer journey and the challenges that came with it.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment,\u201d said the mother of three.<\/p>\n

\u201cTreatment\u2019s done, then it\u2019s like, \u2018I can crack on, get back to normal,\u2019 but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kate shares Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, with her husband, Prince William, the heir to the British throne<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She admitted how it\u2019s hard to go back to the way things were before her cancer treatment at home.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd actually, someone to help talk you through that, show you, and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment, I think is really valuable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Calling it \u201clife-changing\u201d for both the patient and their loved ones, Kate said it\u2019s essential to find the \u201cnew normal\u201d.<\/p>\n
