Sheffield Wednesday are looking to land themselves a welcome financial boost from a Championship rival this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Amid ongoing problems at the club, a number of Owls players have been training individually<\/a> amid reports they have asked to leave.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday are in a three-window transfer ban<\/a>,\u00a0and long-time owner Dejphon Chansiri is facing strike action<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It comes as wages continue to go unpaid, and a potential takeover of the Yorkshire outfit doesn\u2019t appear to be close.<\/p>\n

Hull City have joined Wednesday<\/a> in the Championship clubs hit with an embargo going into the new season.<\/p>\n

And while the majority of news coming out of Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> right now isn\u2019t great, the club are trying to secure a financial boost.<\/p>\n

Youngster Will Grainger has signed a deal with Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> recently, but another rising gem is set to leave the club.<\/p>\n

It was reported earlier this week that Sutura Kakay has turned down a pro contract with the Owls<\/a> and that Southampton were looking at the player.<\/p>\n

Now, journalist Joe Crann has provided a further update on the situation, and it\u2019s good news for Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Taking to X\/Twitter, Crann mentioned Sheffield Wednesday and the Saints are now in negotiations for a compensation fee.<\/p>\n

He wrote: \u201cUnderstand that #SWFC are now locked in negotiations with Southampton over a compensation fee for midfielder, Sutura Kakay\u2026 The Saints want to add him to their academy after he turned down a professional deal at Wednesday.\u201d<\/p>\n

How much will Sheffield Wednesday receive for Sutura Kakay<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday are obviously struggling for cash at the moment and any extra income will come as a welcome boost.<\/p>\n

However, as is to be expected, a potential compensation fee for Kakay isn\u2019t likely to be massive.<\/p>\n

In the report published by Crann from the Star, he wrote that \u2018the money \u2013 even if it\u2019s not hugely substantial \u2013 could certainly come in handy\u2019.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, another youngster, Joe Emery, is expected to remain at Hillsborough this summer.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
