Ex-Manchester United<\/a> star Gabriel Heinze is reportedly set to take up a coaching job in the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Heinze made 83 appearances for United across his three years at Old Trafford<\/a> from 2004 and 2007 following his \u00a36.9million move from Paris Saint-Germain. The former defender won one Premier League title during his time at United before going on to join Real Madrid.<\/p>\n

After further spells at Marseille, Roma and Newell’s Old Boys, Heinze retired from professional football in 2014 and has since gone into coaching. Now, it seems that the former United star could be in the opposite dugout to his old club next season.<\/p>\n

The Athletic have reported that Heinze is ready to be appointed as a new coach for Arsenal to link up with Mikel Arteta’s backroom staff.<\/p>\n

Heinze is expected to replace the Gunners’ former coach Carlos Cuesta, who recently left the Emirates Stadium to take charge of Serie A outfit Parma.<\/p>\n

United are due to host Arsenal in the first match of the Premier League season on August 17. If an appointment is confirmed, it would see Heinze back at Old Trafford – but this time in the opposite dugout as a coach.<\/p>\n

Heinze has a wealth of experience in coaching already to his name – with his most recent job seeing him in charge of Newell’s Old Boys, his former club, before his exit back in 2023.<\/p>\n

The ex-United defender also has experience managing in the United States with Major League Soccer outfit Atlanta United. Heinze began his coaching career in his homeland in Argentina, taking charge of Godoy Cruz, Argentinos Juniors and Velez Sarsfield.<\/p>\n
