href=\"https:\/\/eflanalysis.com\/tag\/championship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Championship<\/a> signing of the summer so far by landing Rennes ace Kyogo Furuhashi.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/eflanalysis.com\/news\/rival-fans-are-jealous-of-birmingham-city-now-they-are-plotting-statement-signing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham showed interest in Furuhashi<\/a> earlier in the window after his \u00a310m move to Ligue 1 outfit Rennes in the January window.<\/p>\n<p>Now, <strong>EFL Analysis<\/strong> understands via our Chief Football correspondent Graeme Bailey, that Birmingham have agreed personal terms with Celtic legend Furuhashi.<\/p>\n<p>Furuhashi joined French top flight side Rennes in January, but has not settled across the Furuhashi\u2019s goalscoring record overall for Celtic, and since Rennes move in January<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sources have informed <strong>EFL Analysis<\/strong> that 30-year-old Furuhashi has agreed terms with Birmingham and the two clubs are now close to finalising terms on a \u00a310million deal.<\/p>\n<p>Birmingham wanted to bolster their attacking options aside from record signing Jay Stansfield and Furuhashi is emerging as their main target.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EFL Analysis<\/strong> understands that Celtic did have conversations about a possible return to Glasgow for their Japanese legend. <\/p>\n<p>However, Birmingham have persuaded him that his next move should be to England\u2019s second city and they hope to tie up the move over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>With Birmingham\u2019s squad already brimming with talent ahead of the 2025\/26 second tier season, the acquisition of Furuhashi to play alongside Stansfield would certainly propel them to a top-six finish next href=\"https:\/\/eflanalysis.com\/transfers\/birmingham-city-summer-transfer-plan-revealed-championship-clubs-already-fearful-of-tom-brady-backed-club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham want an \u201caggressive\u201d transfer window<\/a> this summer, and the statement capture of Furuhashi would do just that.<\/p>\n<p>A front two comprising the Celtic legend, alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/eflanalysis.com\/transfers\/birmingham-citys-most-expensive-signings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham\u2019s most expensive signing<\/a> Stansfield, would send shivers down the spines of all second tier defences ahead of next season. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Japanese forward was outstanding during his four-year stay with the Scottish champions, as evidenced by his 101 direct goal involvements in just 167 appearances.<\/p>\n<p>After Furuhashi\u2019s \u00a310m move to Rennes was completed in January, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skysports.com\/football\/news\/11787\/13294924\/kyogo-furuhashi-transfer-news-rennes-sign-japan-international-striker-from-celtic-in-10m-deal#:~:text=Striker%20Kyogo%20Furuhashi%20has%20left,in%20a%20%C2%A310m%20move.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sky Sports<\/a> that: He\u2019s been an incredible player for the club for the three and a half years he\u2019s been here and he\u2019s not someone that we wanted to lose,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I arrived here, Kyogo hadn\u2019t scored a goal in the Champions League.
