A man has today been jailed for life for his grandmother’s murder – despite telling police she had ‘fallen.’<\/p>\n

Drug user Sam Croston claimed he had no memory of the attack after Pamela Croston was found seriously injured when her emergency pendant was activated.<\/p>\n

She was rushed from a property the pair lived at together on Everdon Road, in Coventry, to hospital. Despite the best efforts to save her, she sadly died from her injuries in September 2023.<\/p>\n

During police interview, the 37-year-old, of no fixed address, suggest she may have fallen.<\/p>\n

Despite this denial, it was clear Pamela’s injuries were deliberate, West Midlands Police<\/a> said.<\/p>\n

Croston was later charged with her murder.<\/p>\n

He was later convicted in February.<\/p>\n

Croston has now been sentenced to a minimum of 30 years in prison following a hearing at Warwick Crown Court on Tuesday, April 15.<\/p>\n

In a statement, police said: “Sam Croston was arrested and charged with her murder, despite telling officers he had no memory of the attack.<\/p>\n

“Despite this denial, it was clear Pamela’s injuries were deliberate.<\/p>\n

“At Warwick Crown Court on 15 April, 37-year-old Croston, of no fixed address, was sentenced to a minimum of 30 years in prison following his conviction on 24 February.<\/p>\n
