then discovered he was wanted for much more serious offences<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Parking fees were raised at Wolverhampton&#8217;s New Cross Hospital and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/cannock\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Cannock<\/a> Chase Hospital on Tuesday, July 1.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Charges will increase from Monday, July 21, at Walsall Manor Hospital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The new charges can be seen below:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"UnorderedList_unordered-list__gzblI\">\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">0-1 hour &#8211; \u00a33.50 (20p increase)<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">1-2 hours -\u00a34.50 (20p increase)<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">2-3 hours &#8211; \u00a35 (20p increase)<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">3-4 hour -\u00a36 (20p increase)<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">4-5 hours &#8211; \u00a36.30 (50p increase)<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">5-7 hours &#8211; \u00a37 (\u00a31 increase)<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">8-24 hours &#8211; \u00a310 (new tariff)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The additional money raised will be put back into The Royal Wolverhampton and Walsall Healthcare NHS Trusts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Fees will continue to be waived for anyone using the car parks for 15 minutes or less.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Disabled parking will also remain free of charge, with concessionary passes available for patients undergoing regular treatment such as chemotherapy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Number plate recognition (ANPR) is used across all of the hospital car parks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In a joint statement, Will Roberts, chief operating officer at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust and Gwen Nuttall, managing director at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, said: \u201cWe appreciate any increase is going to affect people using our services and we have avoided doing this for as long as possible.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cBut we do have to introduce these slight increases in line with other costs that are rising that the trust has to meet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;We are still offering free parking for people with disabilities and concessions for patients who require lengthy or regular courses of treatment as well as parents whose babies are being cared for on our Neonatal Unit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cThe income raised goes back into the trust and, acting on feedback, we are improving our car parks by looking at how we can offer app payment for example.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cOur teams also offer many more phone and video consultations, where appropriate, so fewer patients are having to travel and incur charges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;This is also having an effect on our clinics meaning those for whom a face to face appointment is necessary are having shorter waits and report a more efficient service.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Royal Wolverhampton and Walsall Healthcare NHS Trusts insisted the price hike had been put off &#8220;for as&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":237894,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4316],"tags":[9163,105,4348,211,16,15,10847,4349],"class_list":{"0":"post-237893","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-healthcare","8":"tag-black-country","9":"tag-health","10":"tag-healthcare","11":"tag-nhs","12":"tag-uk","13":"tag-united-kingdom","14":"tag-walsall","15":"tag-wolverhampton"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@uk\/114796014177323431","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/237893","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=237893"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/237893\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/237894"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=237893"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=237893"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=237893"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
