{"id":237996,"date":"2025-07-04T17:48:36","date_gmt":"2025-07-04T17:48:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/237996\/"},"modified":"2025-07-04T17:48:36","modified_gmt":"2025-07-04T17:48:36","slug":"five-manchester-united-players-wont-return-for-pre-season-next-week-after-club-decision","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/237996\/","title":{"rendered":"Five Manchester United players won&#8217;t return for pre-season next week after club decision"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Preparations for the 2025-26 season are about to commence, and Manchester United have made a big decision.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Friday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/tag\/ruben-amorim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ruben Amorim<\/a> returned to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/club\/training-ground\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carrington<\/a> and immediately got stuck into tackling the big problems at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester United<\/a> this summer.<\/p>\n<p>The coaching staff have returned days before the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/when-man-utd-players-return-to-carrington-for-pre-season-training-under-ruben-amorim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United squad are due to return on July 7th<\/a>, and there have clearly been some decisions to make.<\/p>\n<p>In the hours after returning to the training ground, it has been confirmed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/matheus-cunhas-squad-number-at-man-utd-confirmed-it-creates-further-doubt-over-marcus-rashford-future\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United have handed Matheus Cunha the number 10 shirt<\/a>, signalling the end for one player in particular.<\/p>\n<p>However, a bigger decision has been made regarding to future of the five players whom Amorim has no intention of using next season.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"654\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GettyImages-2172728355-1024x654.jpg\" alt=\"Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United celebrates with Marcus Rashford.\" class=\"wp-image-222040\" \/>Photo by Stu Forster\/Getty ImagesManchester United quintet not returning for pre-season<\/p>\n<p>There has been plenty of talk around <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/opinion\/the-chelsea-bomb-squad-lesson-for-manchester-united-and-ineos-in-summer-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United forming a \u2018bomb squad\u2019 this summer<\/a>, with a number of players simply having no future under Amorim.<\/p>\n<p>However, despite talk, it was claimed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/man-utd-fans-respond-to-marcus-rashford-being-ready-to-give-100-per-cent-in-pre-season-have-same-concern\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marcus Rashford, for one, was planning to return for pre-season<\/a>; however, the chances of this have just been slashed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>United in Focus<\/strong> understands that five United players have told the club they want to leave. As a result, United have told them not to report for pre-season on Monday, giving them extra time to explore potential summer exits further.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"inline-links multi\">\n<li>Alejandro Garnacho<\/li>\n<li>Antony<\/li>\n<li>Jadon Sancho<\/li>\n<li>Marcus Rashford<\/li>\n<li>Tyrell Malacia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The quintet will now have to search for a solution and finalise moves; otherwise, they are expected to return later this month, likely for the tour of the USA.
