A Championship expert believes that Leicester City are in a \u201creal state\u201d ahead of the 2025\/26 season, with issues in every department.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Both Championship<\/a> giants Leicester City<\/a> and Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> are in turmoil ahead of the upcoming campaign.<\/p>\n

In every department at Leicester, trouble and uncertainty prevail. Owners King Power face a \u00a3250m payout<\/a> with the club struggling severely on the financial front.<\/p>\n

After Leicester parted ways with Ruud van Nistelrooy<\/a>, no appointment has been made yet to find his successor.<\/p>\n

Amid the uncertainty at Leicester in the dressing room, dugout, and at boardroom level, one Championship expert believes that the Foxes would be under far greater scrutiny if not for the financial crisis at Sheffield Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The Owls have been making headlines for all the wrong reasons this summer, and the club\u2019s woes have seen Sheffield Wednesday hit with a triple embargo<\/a> by the EFL.<\/p>\n

After owner Dejphon Chansiri<\/a> failed to pay his players again in June, Chansiri is facing strike action<\/a> as a result, with a summer exodus from Hillsborough imminent.<\/p>\n

The Foxes are also embroiled in financial difficulties, with Leicester facing a points deduction<\/a>, after they were charged by the Premier League over an alleged breach of PSR concerning the 2023\/24 season, with Leicester facing a double-figure deduction<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With economic turmoil engulfing both Leicester and Sheffield Wednesday, Championship expert Ryan Dilks believes the \u201cspotlight\u201d would be beaming down on the King Power Stadium in far brighter fashion if not for the Owls\u2019 plight.<\/p>\n

Dilks told the Second tier Podcast: \u201cIt sounds like Leicester have really annoyed a lot of people over recent years, and it may be coming back to bite them.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it wasn\u2019t for Sheffield Wednesday, I think the spotlight would be on Leicester a lot more right now.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t recall any club having as much uncertainty over a summer as they currently have.<\/p>\n

\u201cPotentially two points deductions, possibly another battle with PSR, still a massive wage bill, unclear how much money there is for transfers, owners who may or may not be in the best place financially, no manager, a board who are massively under fire,<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are just in a real state, aren\u2019t they.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the financial crisis at both clubs, the pair are currently involved in talks over the future of head coach Danny Rohl, but the discussions have yet to materialise.<\/p>\n

In June, we revealed that Rohl is the frontrunner for Leicester<\/a>, which would prove to be a popular choice among the Foxes supporters as Leicester fans want Rohl<\/a> to succeed van Nistelrooy.<\/p>\n

Leicester are in talks with the Owls<\/a> over Rohl\u2019s future, given that Martyn Glover, Leicester\u2019s head of recruitment, admires Rohl<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The highly-coveted German head coach is yet to openly discuss the Leicester links, and he may be concerned with the Foxes\u2019 financial plight, which second tier expert Dilks rightly mirrored to Sheffield Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Amid their respective crises, both Leicester and the Owls are poised to lose key players.<\/p>\n

Foxes captain Conor Coady is set to join Rangers<\/a>, and at Hillsborough, 13-goal forward Josh Windass wants to leave Sheffield Wednesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n
