People in the area needn&#8217;t worry though, as the new restaurant is only round the corner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Neighbours Jay Wilson and Florentin &#8216;Florrie&#8217; Stefan, opened the popular Il Capitano&#8217;s on St John&#8217;s Road in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/waterloo\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"WaterlooLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Waterloo<\/a> in September 2019, and have since used the restaurant to give the area an authentic taste of Naples. The pair pride themselves on using the freshest possible ingredients and staying true to the Neopolitan style of pizza.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">At Il Capitano&#8217;s, all pizza dough is prepared on-site and fermented for at least 24 hours. The oven reaches 500 degrees, the pies are cooked in under 90 seconds, and the chefs only use San Marzano tomatoes &#8211; which are specifically grown in a designated area near Naples.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The menu includes traditional Italian starters, Neapolitan pizza, fresh pasta, Italian desserts, spritzes, wine and beer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The restaurant, which has both indoor and outdoor dining areas, has a marine\/naval theme, reflecting the maritime histories of Liverpool and Naples.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/0_IL-Capitanos-RestaurantSt-Johns-RoadWaterlooPic-Andrew-Teebay.jpg\" alt=\"Il Capitano's current site on St John's Road\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Il Capitano&#8217;s current site on St John&#8217;s Road(Image: Andrew Teebay Liverpool Echo)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Announcing the move on Instagram today, alongside a video of the new site on <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/crosby\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Crosby<\/a> Road North, Il Capitano&#8217;s said: &#8220;THE SECRET IS OUT! Waterloo&#8217;s worst kept secret, that is.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;So we are moving. Don\u2019t worry &#8211; literally right around the corner!
