A 58-year-old man died two days after the alleged attack on Arnprior Road in Castlemilk.<\/p>\n

A suspect has been charged over the death<\/a> of a man allegedly stabbed in Castlemilk. Stuart Smith appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court this afternoon, Thursday July 3, 2025.<\/p>\n

The 41-year-old, of Glasgow<\/a>, faced a single charge of murder during his private hearing, where he made no plea. The case against him was continued for prosecutors to investigate further.<\/p>\n

No future court dates have been set but Smith, who was remanded in custody<\/a> in connection with the case, is expected to make a second appearance in the dock next week.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to Arnprior Road in Castlemilk, Glasgow, following reports of an injured<\/a> 58-year-old man at around 3.05pm on Tuesday July 1. He was taken to he Queen Elizabeth University Hospital – where he died today.<\/p>\n

A Police Scotland <\/a>spokesperson said: “A 41-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a man in Castlemilk.<\/p>\n

“Around 3.05pm on Tuesday, 1 July, 2025, we received a report of a 58-year-old man found seriously injured<\/a> at Arnprior Road.<\/p>\n

“He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died<\/a> on Thursday, 3 July.<\/p>\n

“The 41-year-old man is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court<\/a> on Friday, 4 July.”<\/p>\n

Yesterday, in a separate incident, we reported that a second teenager had been arrested<\/a> and charged after a boy was allegedly stabbed<\/a> on a Glasgow street more than a month ago.<\/p>\n

Emergency services raced to the incident at 10.30pm on May 29 after the 15-year-old victim was found seriously injured on Denbeck Street in Shettleston<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mercy crews attended and the teen was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital<\/a> for treatment to serious injuries.<\/p>\n

He has since been discharged. Detectives have confirmed they are treating the incident as attempted murder<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The second male who has been arrested and charged<\/a> in connection with the incident, also aged 15, is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date.<\/p>\n

Another 15-year-old male who already appeared in court in connection with the incident on June 5, who is from Glasgow but cannot be named for legal reasons, did not enter a plea.<\/p>\n

The case against him was continued for prosecutors to investigate further and he was released on bail. Cops say inquiries<\/a> remain ongoing.<\/p>\n

Officers previously appealed to anybody who may have witnessed<\/a> the group to come forward.<\/p>\n

Detective Inspector Lesley-Ann McGee, from Shettleston CID, had said: “This was a violent attack<\/a> that left a teenage boy with serious injuries, and we are doing everything we can to trace those responsible.<\/p>\n

“I would urge anyone who saw what happened or noticed anything suspicious in the area to get in touch with police<\/a> as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

“We’re also keen to speak to anyone<\/a> who may have private CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage from Denbeck Street, Shettleston Road, Wellshot Road or the surrounding areas on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

“Any information, no matter how small, could help us as we continue our enquiries<\/a>.”<\/p>\n
