{"id":239080,"date":"2025-07-05T03:29:59","date_gmt":"2025-07-05T03:29:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/239080\/"},"modified":"2025-07-05T03:29:59","modified_gmt":"2025-07-05T03:29:59","slug":"epipens-should-be-available-in-public-spaces","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/239080\/","title":{"rendered":"EpiPens should be available in public spaces"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There needs to be greater accessibility to lifesaving EpiPens for people living with severe allergies, that\u2019s the strong view of Councillor Dara Mulvey.<\/p>\n<p>The Ballymote\/ Tubercurry Fine Gael councillor believes they should be available in public spaces alongside defribilators.<\/p>\n<p>Anaphylaxis, a potentially fatal allergic reaction, affects more than 1 in 10 people in Ireland who suffer severe allergies, and can be treated with EpiPens in the case of serious reactions.<\/p>\n<p>Councillor Mulvey says that for those at risk, access to an Epipen can mean the difference between life and death.<\/p>\n<p>However, the current availability and affordability of EpiPens can be an issue of concern, leaving many vulnerable individuals, particularly children, low-income families and those in remote areas at significant risk.<\/p>\n<p>He is now urging the Minister for Health to prioritise the expansion of EpiPen availability as a matter of public health and safety.
