Noel<\/a> and Liam Gallagher<\/a> both joked about last year\u2019s ticket price controversy during their first reunion show in Cardiff.<\/p>\n

Oasis<\/a> made their triumphant return to the stage after a 16-year absence on Friday night (July 4) at the Principality Stadium in the Welsh capital, where they played an epic, career-spanning set<\/a> in front of over 70,000 fans.<\/p>\n

During the set, both brothers took time to make light-hearted comments about the saga around the Oasis Live \u201825 ticket sale, which left thousands of fans infuriated as they waited for hours in queues as the cost of tickets appeared to surge due to demand without warning<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During a period in the set in which Noel sang lead vocals on a string of songs, he quipped: \u201cI hope it was worth \u00a3175 of anybody\u2019s money. Sorry, \u00a3210. Sorry, \u00a3250.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later, Liam also referenced the controversy, saying: \u201cWhat\u2019s happening? You alright? Yeah, you\u2019re having a good time, yeah? Was it worth the \u00a340,000 you paid for a ticket?\u201d<\/p>\n

Oasis said\u00a0at the time that they \u201cat no time had any awareness<\/a>\u00a0that dynamic pricing was going to be used\u201d in the sale, claiming that \u201cprior meetings between promoters, Ticketmaster and the band\u2019s management resulted in a positive ticket sale strategy, which would be a fair experience for fans, including dynamic ticketing to help keep general ticket prices down as well as reduce touting, the execution of the plan failed to meet expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n

The band later announced \u201ca small step towards making amends for the situation\u201d with \u201ca special invitation-only ballot ticket sale strategy\u201d<\/a>\u00a0for two additional Wembley gigs on September 27 and 28.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought it\u2019d be a big deal, but I was a bit taken aback by just how much of a big deal it was,\u201d\u00a0Noel Gallagher said earlier this year,<\/a>\u00a0looking at the demand.<\/p>\n

In March, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) warned that\u00a0Ticketmaster may have \u201cbreached the law\u201d and \u201cmisled fans\u201d during the sale last summer<\/a>, while earlier this month, the UK competition watchdog wrote to Ticketmaster threatening legal action over its \u201cmisleading\u201d methods of selling tickets<\/a> for the tour.<\/p>\n

Oasis will play a second date in Cardiff tomorrow (July 5) ahead of five homecoming shows at Manchester\u2019s Heaton Park,\u00a0seven nights at London\u2019s Wembley Stadium<\/a>, and stops in Edinburgh and Dublin. Later on the \u2018Oasis Live \u201925\u2019 trek, they\u2019ll head to\u00a0North America<\/a>,\u00a0South America<\/a>,\u00a0Australia<\/a>,\u00a0South Korea and Japan<\/a>.<\/p>\n
