{"id":239514,"date":"2025-07-05T07:24:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-05T07:24:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/239514\/"},"modified":"2025-07-05T07:24:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-05T07:24:10","slug":"i-tried-this-beloved-glasgow-spot-just-before-it-closes-for-huge-refurb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/239514\/","title":{"rendered":"I tried this beloved Glasgow spot just before it closes for huge refurb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have heard great things about the Ubiquitous Chip ever since I moved to Glasgow.<\/p>\n<p>For years, it has been on my list to try but life always got in the way.<\/p>\n<p>Then, last week, the popular restaurant announced it would close for around 60 days for a multi-million-pound refurbishment.<\/p>\n<p>I was struck by the news and immediately decided it was finally time to pay them a visit &#8211; I cannot wait another two months.<\/p>\n<p>I secured a reservation and invited a friend to join me.<\/p>\n<p>When we arrived at Ashton Lane, I was taken aback by the building. Although I love ordering two different things and trying them both, we were just both too excited about the beef.<\/p>\n<p>The meal was absolutely delicious, with the sauce and the meat combining perfectly.<\/p>\n<p>But for me, the real highlight was the onion pure\u00e9. It was outstanding.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the bread was perfect for soaking up the rest of the delicious sauce.<\/p>\n<p>It was a wonderful experience and I wish I had come to the Ubiquitous Chip earlier.
